A phrase like "Smaller metropolitan markets like Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Boise, Idaho, Austin, Texas, and Memphis." makes me wish Americans adopted a syntax like "Texas:Austin", "Texas//Austin", "Austin<Texas" or something along those lines. Note that they already use a reverse-order spelling for currency: "$50" does not read "dollar-fifty", but "fifty dollars". So, there ought to be no problem of saying "Austin Texas" and writing "Texas$Austin" or whatever.

@kazriko @amerika Okay, I'll give it a try. One problem I see already is a city with a multiply-word name, such as NM::Santa Fe. But perhaps it's only a matter of getting used to the syntax.
