@deprecated Ford and Jeep owners can share a few stories, I'm sure. In fact, my Wrangler was even a subject of a recall for spontaneous combustion.
@stuff @deprecated except they havent paired this with doors that require electronic signals communicating with a BCM to do something as simple as opening
@bub @deprecated I'm not familiar with Tesla enough to dispute any of this. Electronic internal door handles are not completely unknown though. The final generation Lincoln Continental has them, for example. Frankly I would be more concerned about driving a car with drive-by-wire steering with no mechanical connection, like an Infiniti.
@stuff @bub @deprecated There's apparently a hidden backup handle to open the tesla's door, but if you're the kind of person who doesn't read the manual, you might not know about it, and passengers definitely wouldn't read the manual.
