In the 1990s there were people saying that JS would never be good because it couldn't be optimized. also that arm would inevitably overtake x86.
@Moon ARM is pretty much like Linux desktop: it's already here just not in the way we expected it happen. It owned the appliance for years and it's actively encroaching into cloud. Won't make much of a dent at Windows desktop. https://arxiv.org/abs/2106.06242

@kazriko @Moon The criterion of the common distro media was my condition to accept ARM too. However, it completely made a run around it by sneaking into the cloud. Hyperscalers are okay with own installer, as long as they can run generic hypervisors and distros; in fact the largest of them move beyond that.
