@WashedOutGundamPilot dude just got an email saying these are in https://atlanticfirearms.com/russian-rpd-rifle
@D00B who makes the flats for it? Nodak? I assume whoever made theirs should offer some too. At some point in time I had this video saved in my bookmarks.
For something like an MG42 where a semiauto is $5000, then taking a risk on my garbage welding skills is a little more worth it, but I don't know how much I'd save on a kit if it's that affordable. It is tempting though.... Hmm. Y'know, while fuckin' it up too.

@WashedOutGundamPilot @D00B I'm pretty sure Nodak only made ARs. Their claim to fame was making forgings. Although on second though, a distance between forgings and stampings is rather short.
@WashedOutGundamPilot @Coyote what's going on in august? I mean I know they are coming for our guns because they did such terrible shit they need us disarmed.
@Coyote @D00B @WashedOutGundamPilot Hope this gets challenged in court. Otherwise it starts getting into weird territory
But if it sticks, I guess we all become 3D print bros

Oh yes? They'll ban gun powder (no registered guns, no need for gun powder, right?) or they'll tax it to oblivion.

@D00B @Coyote @WashedOutGundamPilot @bitcoin @mystik This is blackpowder, which is much weaker and dirtier than modern smokeless powder. It will work well for your flintlock muskets though. For anything more modern, including ball and cap and blackpowder cartridge you need primer, which is fairly dangerous to make.
@mandlebro @Coyote @WashedOutGundamPilot @bitcoin @mystik yeah I know I know somewhere on thegatalog theres the "all about gunpowder" .pdf
@D00B @mandlebro @Coyote @WashedOutGundamPilot @bitcoin @mystik Aren't they just yanking primers from rimfire nailguns though? Practical but lame.
@mystik @Coyote @D00B @bitcoin @ForbiddenDreamer @WashedOutGundamPilot still needs a primer. That's the hardest part to make at home
@mandlebro @Coyote @D00B @bitcoin @ForbiddenDreamer @WashedOutGundamPilot
Water and salt. That's the primer. How hard is getting water and salt?

@Coyote @D00B @WashedOutGundamPilot @bitcoin @mandlebro @mystik Then again, might as well use propane.

@Coyote @D00B @mandlebro @mystik Why is the mass of the container for CNG is smaller than for compressed hydrogen? It makes no sense. The pressure they aim for is greater for hydrogen, and its density is lower.
@union I would think that you need something far more solid to keep smaller molecules from escaping.

@kazriko @Coyote Something is not right with that row, mass. It cannot be the tank mass: a typical hydrogen tank for a car is about 40 kg all by itself. But then the mass of the gas does not compute for the propane: a barbecue cylinder contains several pounds, not 0.61kg. Either way, I think Robert Zubrin said everything about this in his article "The Hydrogen Hoax".
