@maxmustermann Always reminds me of this comic when I hear about people from Japan going to Paris. https://www.webtoons.com/en/slice-of-life/bluechair/ep-172-paris-syndrome/viewer?title_no=199&episode_no=236
@kazriko @maxmustermann I dunno man, Japan always what I thought it would be to me. The Bike Cuck is just a degenerate.
@anime @maxmustermann I haven't been there myself, and since they aren't fully open it may be awhile before I can go, but I always assumed that it was more of a joke about having unrealistic expectations. Nothing can ever live up to every anime, so there's always going to be someone disappointed if they thought it was like a particular one.

@kazriko @maxmustermann I am not going to be surprised if liberal weebs have completely wrong expectations for Japan, but the Bike Cuck is trying to make a joke on a premise that everyone has those wrong expectations. But actually it's only him and his ilk. Just like with the bike.
That said, I didn't live in Japan for extended periods. Only visited five or six times, doing typical touristy and conference stuff. But my daughter spent a year in Akita, and I went to check upon her once. It was pretty interesting and out of the ordinary.
