Wtf are doing Germany?

@JSDorn nuclear energy is green why the fuck are germs retarded

@ehhh greens have long considered Nuclear to be no no energy.

This goes back long before they harped on CO2 and climate change.

@JSDorn nuclear energy is pretty safe and clean if you don't hire niggers and women

@ehhh @JSDorn It's really not though. It produces waste products with half lifes in the billions of years that need to be stored safely, and we currently have no plan for that. There is over a quarter million metric tons of nuclear waste sitting in "temporary" storage at reactors around the world right now, and growing every year.

@EssentialUtinsil @JSDorn @ehhh It's not necessary to dump spent fuel into the long-living waste. And, it's extremely wasteful. Americans chose to do it that way just because they didn't want to spend money on building the reprocessing infrastructure. But Russians and French don't have any of that billion year waste. They reprocess the spent fuel, which is only depleted by 10% at the end of the cycle, reuse the good part, and irradiate the bad part. The process converts the billon-year waste into waste that decays much quicker, in just years. Of course, obviously it's much more active too, but they don't have to build the absurd storage that lasts 10,000 years. And, they get 10 times more use out of one ton of Uranium cake. It really is super dumb that American practices somehow became the norm in the minds of the public.

@EssentialUtinsil @ehhh there are plenty of places they can be stored without having much impact on people.

Hell, in a world without jews or niggers we'd just shoot it all into space while we go on vacations to Mars

@JSDorn @EssentialUtinsil @ehhh the elites really don’t want you to know this but you can keep reprocessing that waste into useful fuel until it’s harmless

@sapphire @EssentialUtinsil @JSDorn @ehhh I don't think elites give shit one way or the other. It's not like existence of reprocessing in countries other than U.S. is a secret. It's just the public is lazy about learning.

@union @EssentialUtinsil @JSDorn @ehhh US used to have nuclear reprocessing plants, but I think they were largely closed. (They reprocessed the spent fuel and extracted Plutonium, which was then used for weapons, and sent the rest of the fuel back to be used more.) Some of the plants were leaking material though and caused local environmental issues. Still a lot cleaner than most forms of energy.

@kazriko @union @EssentialUtinsil @JSDorn instead of giving the IRS my money i should just give them my excess plutonium

sorry i had to pay my *taxes* late but here ya go

@kazriko @EssentialUtinsil @JSDorn @ehhh I'm pretty sure there wasn't a dedicated plant like Russian "Mayak". The Oak Ridge lab did all that extraction at their campus. I may be mistaken about it, but I seem to recall.

@kazriko @union @JSDorn @ehhh Carter shut down the last reprocessing facility over non-proliferation concerns, which doesn’t actually make sense because the material you get from reprocessing is a very low percent of weapons-grade. I don’t remember the us sites having leaks but I thought that’s why the one in the UK shut down.

@union @kazriko @JSDorn @ehhh The US had three commercial reprocessing plants. First was in New York but closed because they regulated it until it wasn’t profitable, second was in Illinois with a new process that never really worked, and the third in South Carolina was shut down by carter.

They should build a new plant on the land the USA is "leasing" from Cuba!

@union @EssentialUtinsil @JSDorn @ehhh Yeah, I don't know if they were fully integrated. I know that Rocky Flats did some of the reprocessing manufacturing of Plutonium fuel, but probably not all of the process. It was the one that had some major leaking problems.
