Guys, I just noticed something.

Everyone laughed when those worthless Russians bought thousands of propeller drones from Iran. The country that launched the first artificial satellite cannot even make what amounts to an RC airplane with a bomb duct-taped to it LOL.

But now, these Iranian drones made a huge mess out of Ukrainian electricity, oil depots, and other infrastructure. Laugh all you want, but it's a carnage. The Ukrainian air defense, which grounded Russian Sukhois beyond the immediate front lines, cannot do squat against these fiberglass and propeller thingies.

This is no laughing matter and can make significant implications for us, Israel, or Saudis - basically for everyone who opposes Iran in the Middle East.

@union Yes. And it's possible that they've already been doing that to the Saudis to a limited extent. I recall some drone attacks in that area several years back. It was attributed to Houthi rebels in Yemen, but they were probably using Iranian drones for it.

@union Propellers? I don't see any propellers on the Spicy Doritos.

@MaxMustermann The propellers are at the rear centerline. The triangular wing is usually associated with high speed, jet-powered airplanes, but rest assured, these are very slow. I don't know why exactly Iranians chose the layout you're seeing.

BTW note that the greatest disadvantage of a stubby wing is a worse Cl, exacerbated by inverse deflection of elevons. But that only comes into play at high angle of attack, when airplane lands. But the suicide drone does not land. It never flies at a high angle of attack.
