@ja2ke Congrats on the season 3 announcement. Very exciting \o/

@Cheeseness thanks!!

@Cheeseness Season 3 of what?

@AlexLW Skunkape's remaster of Telltale's Sam & Max games (I generally don't promote/signal boost stuff that doesn't have Linux support, otherwise I'd be shouting from the rooftops)

@Cheeseness @AlexLW The first two seasons are weaker than the 3rd, but the 3rd makes it all worth playing through to see the ending. Aside from Tales from the Borderlands, it's my favorite thing that telltale made.

@kazriko @AlexLW IMO it's Telltale's strongest work.

I think seasons 1 and 2 are pretty good, but I think each season builds upon and stretches beyond its predecessors. I like to think of Sam & Max as being a core sample of Telltale history - you can see increases in quality of production, design, and storytelling across the board as they progress (the remasters diminish this a little by adding polish with more experienced sensibilities).

@kazriko @AlexLW Season 3 breaks a lot of S&M convention, but does so in a way that's respectful, resonant, and umm reautiful.

@Cheeseness @AlexLW I really enjoyed how the first episode felt like a straight Sam and Max game from the prior season, then each game after that found its own theme and ran with it to its logical conclusion. I actually played the first two episodes of Season 3 first, then went back to play the first two seasons because I was starting to notice references I didn't get.

@kazriko @AlexLW 100%

I imagine they're probably enjoyable without having played what came before, but there's a lot of meaningful character moments that I think are harder to spot if you haven't (IMO, being familiar with the comics enriches the experience as well)
