@anime @hfaust I think the article I read said it was $7500 in USD, which means their exchange rate has tumbled quite a lot. Used to be the rule of thumb was 100 yen was $1, but that's quite a bit out of date now. I wonder just how much of the farm story/slow life/etc genre has been secretly helped by the government that wanted to push this sort of policy to reverse population decline. It's pretty late though, it would have been better to get people having kids back in the 80's.
