@Moon Their spicy sandwich is too spicy for me. Also, I need my veggies, even in token amounts. So I go for the "Deluxe". Which, apparently, means "slightly better balanced for old men".
@animeirl I like popeyes a lot but i haven't had their spicy chicken sandwich so I'll have to try that next
Dunno, might vary from store to store or region to region but my experience is that popeyes is almost always crisp and fresh and tangy while chick fil a is a bit limp and not as flavorful.
@creamqueen @Moon @animeirl BTW, I went to Chick-Fil-A for the first time on the tail end of the boycott, years ago. The publicity admittedly put it on my radar, but I waited a couple of months until the hour-long lines abated. And by some accident I got the spicy sandwich that Moonman got, although I knew that I didn't like the spicy things. That experience kind of soured my on the whole thing. So for a few years, I kept thinking, "I'll support the free speech, but maybe some other time!" But coincidentally my wife expressed a desire to sample Chick-Fil-Eh a month ago, and the Deluxe turned out to be pretty decent. I've never been to Long John or Pope Yes!.
@union @creamqueen @Moon @animeirl I think the Grilled Club is pretty good too. That's what I get when I want to go lower-sodium.

@union @Moon @animeirl Chick Fil A's sandwich is a staple. it is the standard. Thats why its so good. It is THE chicken sandwich. Their spicy sandwich is really good too. Their nuggets are the exact same meat and seasoning as their chicken sandwich, so if you dont want the bread, get the nuggets. The strips on the other hand are amazing, theyre marinated and breaded. They have a lineup of grilled chicken items, but they really aren't that great, but theyre good. I don't care for them because they have quite the markup in price. Everything except the fries and hashbrowns are fried in 100% refined peanut oil. The fries and hashbrowns are fried in canola oil.
