This man is such a dumb obese Stalinist that it's hard to believe anyone ever listened to his Youtube channel.

@noyoushutthefuckupdad what is he even fucking talking about. It reads like a semi-schizo post

@coolboymew Gamergate broke his brain. then Trump broke his brain again. then Covid broke it one more time.

I don’t see why people liked his film takes if he can’t grasp reality enough to even get a basic framing correct. Tucker was the maverick of that network, and that was proven by history now. If you can’t observe dynamics better than taking second hand notes that’s pretty shitty.

He must also believe Joe Biden does his own Twitter posts.

@thendrix @noyoushutthefuckupdad 100% he's just regurgitating shitlibs talking points, that's about it

@coolboymew @thendrix he might be the most detestable e-celeb in the world.

@noyoushutthefuckupdad @coolboymew @thendrix
It's like he's doing a bit

@ZRDR_DelRio @coolboymew @noyoushutthefuckupdad @thendrix if you look at Patrick Tomlinsons Twitter feed you'll see the same basic bitch Twitter lib takes in between ENJOY PRISON

@ZRDR_DelRio @coolboymew @noyoushutthefuckupdad @thendrix or literally just go to mastodon.social or any mastodon network instance you will see some ivory tower journalist posting the same basic bitch takes

They 100% are high on their own supply. They're very confident they're going to win the next election anyway, so you should be setting aside money for one of those Hertz Teslas or similar.

@PurpCat @ZRDR_DelRio @noyoushutthefuckupdad @thendrix I hate journalists the most because they're usually the biggest small bourgeoisie larpers

@coolboymew @ZRDR_DelRio @noyoushutthefuckupdad @thendrix yeah but don't you know? you can bypass high gas prices if you buy a Tesla Model 3 (tm)
https://www.hertzcarsales.com/used-tesla.htm

@PurpCat @ZRDR_DelRio @noyoushutthefuckupdad @thendrix that's hilarious because they're not building anymore power plants, nuclear or so, and I believe they just announced like a few weeks ago in Canada that charging your car is now, or will be, more expensive than gas prices

@coolboymew @ZRDR_DelRio @noyoushutthefuckupdad @thendrix yeah but let's say you're a suburbanite or city slicker driving to the wage cage in Office Park 42069 (you know the ones parodied in Office Space).

You're charging your EV after work every single day. If you want to go outside to every tourist trap city, well chances are you're buying a plane ticket anyway.

@PurpCat @ZRDR_DelRio @coolboymew @thendrix one argument against electric cars is the scarcity of the rare earth minerals required to make the batteries. there's probably not enough material in the world to make billions of batteries for electric cars.

@noyoushutthefuckupdad @ZRDR_DelRio @coolboymew @thendrix China can make it happen apparently though and outside the USA, countries going all in aren't as paranoid of them.
https://www.cnbc.com/2024/03/28/china-made-vehicles-will-make-up-a-quarter-of-europes-ev-sales-this-year.html

The problem with the USA Political Machine is that everyone is on different pages of the same book. You can look on the news and right now automakers and their lobbyists are whining about China making cheap EVs, despite you being told that EVs will stop climate change from the EPA.

https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/ustr-tai-calls-decisive-action-shield-ev-sector-china-2024-04-17/

@noyoushutthefuckupdad @ZRDR_DelRio @coolboymew @thendrix Of course a better argument against EVs, is that they're not repairable, when the batteries shit the bed unless you're browsing car forums with EV modders you're going to get told "sorry pal can't help ya, you gotta pay $$$", and they sit unsold because most normies don't want them (and they are priced higher used anyhow).

The Nissan Leaf is the only one right now you can get for the price of a shitbox and you eventually need a new battery.

@ZRDR_DelRio @coolboymew @noyoushutthefuckupdad @thendrix I'm sure if they were priced less used as in "take this shit off our hands" value like the Leaves are, you'd get some more people fucking with them. But so many are low production, orphaned EVs that sold poorly and have nobody trying to modify them.
https://github.com/dalathegreat/Nissan-LEAF-Battery-Upgrade

@PurpCat @ZRDR_DelRio @noyoushutthefuckupdad @thendrix jesus fucking christ

So let me guess, to change the batteries for most of these, it's all DRM nightmare that needs to be cracked, so your average garage cannot do it and the manufacturer is completely swindling you? As usual?

@coolboymew @ZRDR_DelRio @noyoushutthefuckupdad @thendrix it's more undocumented/canbus fun.

Remember your average garage only knows how to part swap and EVs to the average Discount Tire places have orders from corporate to not even touch them.

@PurpCat @ZRDR_DelRio @noyoushutthefuckupdad @thendrix

So basically:
-We have an electric infrastructure that cannot handle everyone having an EV
-We've been told that charging them will be more expensive than gas soon
-I have yet to hear a single plan about building more power infrastructure, let alone nuclear ones
-EV are expensive
-EV are DRM'd to hell, so double as expensive if anything goes wrong or you need to change the battery

What a complete shitshow

@coolboymew @PurpCat @ZRDR_DelRio @noyoushutthefuckupdad @thendrix

There's more. EVs are much heavier than normal cars, therefore:
- Safety implications (e.g. highway safety barriers have to be re-built)
- They eat tires, which are not very recyclable
- EVs destroy roads faster

Not sure if it qualifies as "complete shitshow" as you say, but EVs have problems that are not getting addressed

In the U.S., by the way, gas taxes maintain roads. So EVs will require a transition to per-mile taxation, which is a wet dream of ultra-liberal Big Broter state surveillance enthusiasts.

@union @PurpCat @ZRDR_DelRio @coolboymew @noyoushutthefuckupdad @thendrix You could probably charge for the EV yearly registration taxes based on weight, just assume they're driving an average amount of miles per year (12000-15000) get the MPG based on similar weighted gas cars, and let them try to claim a discount if they're under that. Wouldn't take any more info than they already have.
