An unfortunate reality is that the “Fediverse” is turning out to be a rather horrible place to have conversations.

Mass bannings. Far more hateful individuals than I’ve seen on X (and far fewer people interested in discussions). An almost total lack of searchability. The federated system results in people having conversations where many (sometimes most) posts are invisible to many people. And a UI that is not terrible conducive to nice conversations.

There are some good things going for the Fediverse concept… but, in practice, it is proving to be less than a positive experience.

I’m keeping it around and checking in occasionally to see if things improve.

@lunduke @admin @omnipotens Sad that you see it that way. I've had some pretty decent conversations here. And I think that people are just more open to speaking their mind.

I think it matters about your following. You probably have more followers on twitter so you get more interactions. Most things I post on twitter get ignored, while here it leads to conversations.
