@kusuriya nowhere yet, but there was a time here where I could go 24 hours without worrying about the country existing the next day.

Some period between the end of the Cold War and the beginning of the eternal war 🤣

@requiem I remember that time fondly, Now im watching my homeland descend into a corporate kleptocracy wondering what can I do.

@kusuriya it is our shared struggle.

I’m focusing on building local capacity to protect those at risk (which is slowly becoming everyone) and reducing dependency on federal resources.

Our little “city” has begun to help (the local police are not going to help ICE, for example) and our governor has sworn to continue protecting the lgbtqia+ communities. I’ll keep pushing for support at these levels while doing what I can with others nearby to develop and deploy mutual aid and other community resources.

For me doing this with joy is essential, not only for my own health but also because I think it’s important to show others that this can be fun, taking care of each other, and is maybe more attractive than hanging out with people who just want to hurt others people.

@requiem yeah I need to move to a different city, Im surrounded by rabid MAGAts who still think the leopards won't eat thier face. I have a small local support network and im building gardens and raising chickens but Im not sure how safe I actually am here.

@kusuriya it’s weird here, we are a small city (~16k) and went deep red during the first Trump regime, but this time around went bluer.

There’s still loads of fascists here but for some reason things moved slightly to the left over the last 8 years.
