@requiem I've always been using Newsblur. I don't think it's a lot like pinboard though? It is run by a very small company though, and is open source, even though the infrastructure is so complex that it's hard to run on your own.

@Cheeseness I'm not sure they're specifically targeting those people who have good ports, they're probably just broadcasting it to all devs.

@Cheeseness (Basically, if a dev is just doing it to check a box and they're not going to keep it updated and keep paying the porter, I'd rather they went the route of making it work well on proton.)

@Cheeseness I'm not talking about him in particular. There's just been a ton of ports where they took short cuts and ended up with a buggy linux port that underperforms Proton and falls out of sync. I think that native ports are important though, but even more important is a good user experience for gaming on linux. I'd rather have a developer that cares about making sure their game works perfectly under linux using either method, than demanding a native port.

@anime @Moon Be sure to check ProtonDB too though, they only whitelist things that they test themselves, but the community tests a lot of things with SteamOS and you can turn the compatibility layer on yourself.

@Cheeseness True, though to avoid that we need to make sure the porters are doing a good job. There's some ports out there that are actually worse experiences than just running the windows version in proton.

@csepp @plasmamobile @PINE64 Yeah, my pinebook pro didn't have a particularly fantastic default image either. Luckily there were better ones quickly after release.

@csepp @PINE64 @plasmamobile They've shipped it with a variety of systems over time here. UBports, Mobian, KDE, postmarketOS, and Manjaro. It seems like they've settled on the Manjaro Plasma distro. Maybe it was the most popular community edition? I suggest checking the wiki and picking out a different image. These are still largely beta devices for OS developers and enthusiasts though.

@stuff @Moon Mine crashed a bit harder than that, but I bought it about a month before it crashed here, and it dropped 50% and took about 10 years to recover back to its original level. (185k down to about 120k) This area of colorado had a delayed crash though. Because our natural gas industry was booming, our housing held its value while the rest of the country crashed, but as soon as Gov Ritter passed the oil and gas regulations, everything here crashed harder.

@stuff Colorado, out here in the desert 1/5th of the state.

@stuff @bub @deprecated There's apparently a hidden backup handle to open the tesla's door, but if you're the kind of person who doesn't read the manual, you might not know about it, and passengers definitely wouldn't read the manual.

@stuff I keep avian cockroach feeders on my house for them. They're quite photogenic for flying bugs.

@requiem I heard there was a firmware update for mine available, so the next time I go to the dealer I'll see if they can update it.

@requiem I hope it isn't that bad in my 2013 subaru. But the Harman and Kardon radio is a bit unusual in it. I know it also has the reverse camera and gps functionality tied into it.

@letterus @fribbledom There was that old joke about Emacs being an operating system that happened to include a text editor... Web browsers are basically that now.

@anime @hfaust (Not really a spoiler about his abilities, he literally shows those off in the first dozen pages of the manga.)

@anime @hfaust The story alternates between the real world, and him showing his nephew videos of what happened in the Isekai world using one of his abilities.

@anime @hfaust He does bring some abilities back to the real world. I read this when it was on Mangadex and was fairly entertained by it, and started buying the US releases.
